Last night the club held the third evening ten mile time trial on the UC361R Frome bypass course. Mark Keyford organised the event and didn't let the responsibility stop him posting a quick time.
It was the best evening we've has so far. Slightly overcast, not cold and a dying westerly wind that wasn't particularly troublesome in either direction. At least that's how it seemed to me on my leisurely time-keeper's trundle from the start to the finish and back again.
And no rain! Not a wet-weather overshoe or raincoat in sight! Thereby scotching rumours that Bath riders have their heavy raincoats welded to their backs.
Ten riders -- the best turnout so far -- rode with the following results:
| Rider | Time |
|---|---|
| Rob Pears | 22m 25s |
| Mark Keyford | 22m 32s |
| David Summers | 23m 43s |
| Tom Ryan | 24m 36s |
| Andy Dutton | 24m 54s |
| Tony Thorne | 25m 46s |
| Leon Boulton | 26m 14s |
| Pete Wilson | 26m 42s |
| Aileen Brown | 28m 16s |
| John Tooze | 30m 36s |
Rob Pears was riding his Picasso-painted Telfer as the Cervelo is waiting for replacement carbon-fibre components. Leon Boulton is a improving rider, having significantly bettered his times in our previous events and a wet & windy Frome event on the same course. It was good to see Tony Thorne back riding after a period of illness.
The final club event on this course for this year is on Wednesday 30th July at 7:00PM.
