In 2008 Bath CC had an active presence in the early season events with strong performances and breakaway attempts at the local Pittards Road Race held at Yeovilton, the nearby Reading Road Race and Thruxton circuit events. It was George Rowntree who scored the first points of the 2008 season for Bath with an impressive 6th and 10th places both at Castle Combe in March and May.
The tough hilly Upavon summer series brought some reward to Matt Hargreaves after the frustrations of the early season with 5 points finishes out of 5 events (3rd, 7th, two 8th and a 9th) to end up in 2nd place overall in the series.
